Futbol and Cookies

Last Saturday we were able to play soccer. Guess where???? VILLA SOL!!! There is this man who owns a taxi service, and he takes care of all of our needs as a mission. He lives in Villa Sol, and we played against him and his friends. I saw members from my old ward, and man how good it was to see them and actually be able to talk to them and ask them about the families I baptized. It was great.

Afterward, we went to the house of President Perez and ate lunch, to celebrate the birthday of Sister Perez. It was good as always, and I’m fat, haha. We cooked your pumpkin cookies that you had sent for Christmas, and they were good. Thanks so much for sending them, President and Sister Perez never had tried them, so it was good.

Easy Pumpkin Cookies
2 boxes of Spice cake mix
1 large can of pumpkin
1 bag chocolate chips

Mix all together and drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake at 350*F or 180*C for 15 minutes
*This was very easy to send through the mail for my missionary. I sent a disposable foil cake pan (for baking) and hoped he could find a member with a large bowl for mixing - Just an idea.

Futbol or Fulbito ?

I asked Landon what the difference was........

"Futbol is on a huge grass field played with 11 players on each team, basically soccer."

"Fulbito is on a little cement field with smaller goals and only 5 on a team. I love it, it's like playing on like a basketball size field."

Ouch !!

So about a month ago we were playing soccer, and I jammed my big toe, hard on the soccer ball. A little blood spot showed up underneath the nail.

Well today, (Saturday the 15th) I stepped on it wrong (as we were playing early morning soccer again), and it popped, and man did it hurt... I took my sock off, and there was blood under my whole nail, and it feels so weird - like it's going to come off, and now it hurts really bad, haha... We will see how I hold up :) My feet are getting pretty beat up out here. Really, I don't think my feet will ever be the same.... but oh well, it's a long way from my heart....

Actually what I need is socks, like 3 or 4 pairs if you could. It will be good to get those new shoes also, my feet are starting to take a beating. (His old pair purchased from Missionary Mall have a hole, so we sent him FREE replacement shoes) It shows that I have walked everyday for the past year and a month. I will have to get pedicure when I get home, haha… I will have Leisa Wilson do it, haha, my feet are pretty bad.

PS - ONLY in the mission would you catch me waking up at 6am to play soccer, haha. Never again outside of the mission would I do that!

P-day Fun

You may remember a week or two ago, Landon wrote home that he and Elder Dallin Peterson (Kaysville) had met with their zones for an early morning futbol game. Here are some pics.......

Roger was really surprised at the uniforms, and he asked Landon about it in a letter. Here is what Landon had to say about the whole thing.....

"To answer your questions.. our zone bought them (the soccer uniforms) in Lima, for 14 soles ($4.66) for all of it.. Shorts and a Jersey, it's awesome… You like them I know, haha.. Heck yes we won the game… Do you ever know me to lose? haha Just kidding, but no, we really did win… it was a battle, but it was fun…. Ya, I know I'm skinny, haha, but don’t worry, I'm in good health.. I'm not in shape by any means, and I don’t have any kind of muscle in my body, haha, but I'm in good health.. Let's just say I'll be coming home and lifting the little baby weights.."
