Finally - Pictures !!

During the middle of February, we received two disks - FULL of pics. It's been quite a chore to get through all of them(review, organize, crop, lighten, sharpen).

I've posted one of my favorites (with this post), and I also have pics of many of the young members of the Independencia Ward that I still need to go through, but here are the ones so far - enjoy :)

Missionary Pictures

"And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure unto the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be." 1 Nephi 13:37

We recently received some group pictures, and have posted them here in hopes that some parents might recognize their sons. Don't they look wonderful?

I think this may be the latest group of missionaries who entered the field this past change (August 27th?). I think I recognize Elder Morton (in front next to Presidente Perez) and Elder Griffin (in front with the yellow tie) and I KNOW that is Elder Herdt (financial clerk) and Elders Anderson and Ticona (the AP's) in the back. Any other's you know? (Click on the picture to enlarge)

Please disregard the date on this last picture - Elder Rich is a few days off :) I think this may be the zone leader conference/training (held the week of changes). I recognize a couple of these missionaries. Elder Villanueva and Elder Ramos, Landon's past companions. Anyone recognize any others?? If so, please leave a comment.

If you do see your son, and would like a copy of the picture (high resolution) - please email me at sled4fun2 at hotmail dot com.

We've got pics !!

We got a disk in the mail today. I've been hours (I'm not kidding), trying to sort them out - he had the date wrong on his camera, and his descriptions are half in English (unreadable because it is so sloppy :) and half in Spanish (unreadable because I don't know Spanish). Plus the numbers he refers to, are NOT the numbers that they ended up referencing on the disk. It has been a fun puzzle to put it all together... Seriously - I love it. I'm weird:) I'll try and post them all tomorrow afternoon. Until then. I hope this picture will do :) This is Landon with Elder Villanueva on 04/04/08.

Onward Christian Soldiers

President Joseph Fielding Smith declared: "Our young people . . . are the nobility of heaven, a choice and chosen generation who have a divine destiny. Their spirits have been reserved to come forth in this day when the gospel is on the earth, and when the Lord needs valiant servants to carry on his great latter-day work."

President Spencer W. Kimball declared, "We are rearing a royal generation . . . who have special things to do."

"I trust and pray that we can all see their divine potential; that we can see them going forth as bearers of the holy priesthood and as missionaries preaching "the everlasting gospel" by the Spirit "to the nations of the earth"; that we can see them as faithful husbands and fathers and as valiant servants in and leaders of the Church and kingdom of God in these latter days."

Can you say Thin ?

"We had a meeting last week with all of the Elders that were ending their missions, and I saw all my Comps from the CCM. It was great. Some of them I hadn’t seen for almost 2 months or so. Wow, all of us have lost weight, but Elder Kay and Woolf win it all. Elder Woolf looks like I did when I got out of the hospital from my surgery, haha, it’s crazy. I was good to see everyone".

I don't know - I think Elder Rich, looks pretty skinny......maybe that's just a worrying mother's point of view :)
